Is the old plaster worn and uneven? Thin skim filler will not conceal deeper defects. This medium-grain smoothing plaster can also handle thicker layers. Up to 10 mm can be applied. It is very fluid and quick to apply. It can be smoothed by hand or machine. This is Kerakoll Rasobuild Eco Granello.

What can be used to level uneven old render before painting?
With a medium-grained smoothing render. Rasobuild Eco Granello can be applied in layers up to 10 mm thick. It can be used on solid, absorbent, old or new render.
How much smoothing compound is needed per m²?
Approximately 1.3 kg/m² per millimetre. One 25 kg bag covers approximately 19 m² at 1 mm. With a 5 mm layer, this is approximately 3.8 m².
How long before it can be painted?
At +20 °C and 65% humidity, after approximately 3–7 days. You can also wallpaper it then. It takes longer in cold or humid weather.
Rasobuild Eco Granello or Fino?
For deeper defects and thicker layers, use Granello (0–1.4 mm, max. 10 mm). For a finer surface, use Fino (0–0.8 mm, max. 5 mm), also available in grey.
What will the surface be like?
A medium-grained, even surface that can be painted. For a finer surface, use Rasobuild Eco Fino or the extra-fine Rasobuild Eco Extrafino skim coat.
Is primer needed under the smoothing coat?
On sound, solid, absorbent render, no primer is needed, only wetting. On friable or gypsum-based walls, first apply Rasobuild Eco Consolidante. New render must be scratched before smoothing.
Can it also be used on façades?
Yes, both indoors and outdoors. On façades, it can be applied to sound, solid, absorbent render. Do not apply it to surfaces exposed to sunlight or in windy weather.
When should I not use it?
Not on floors, plasterboard, wood or moving walls. Nor on treated surfaces. For painted, non-absorbent surfaces, use Rasobuild Eco Top Granello.
Can I apply it myself?
Product designed for professionals. Applying it in a thick layer on a flat wall requires plastering skills. We also carry out the smoothing and painting.

Substrate preparation: A solid, dry, clean, dust-free and grease-free substrate. Remove crumbling areas, cement debris, old paint, adhesive residue and form-release agent residue. Wait for spot repairs to cure. Scratch the surface of new plaster before smoothing. For crumbling areas and gypsum-based walls, apply Rasobuild Eco Consolidanteas much as the substrate absorbs.
Mixing: Pour approximately ¾ of the mixing water into a clean container (total amount approximately 6.5 l / 25 kg), then gradually add the powder while mixing at low speed (approximately 400 rpm). Then add the remaining water until a smooth, lump-free consistency is obtained.
Application: Apply the first coat to the dampened substrate with a smoothing trowel, pressing firmly. Then apply further coats until the desired surface is achieved; maximum coat thickness 10 mm. Finish by hand or by machine. On mixed substrates, embed Rinforzo 50 V alkali-resistant mesh into the fresh first coat, then completely cover it with the second coat.
Waiting time: Wait approximately 3–7 days before painting or wallpapering (+20 °C, 65% humidity; longer in cold or humid conditions).
Conditions: Between +5 °C and +35 °C. Do not apply to surfaces exposed to sunlight or high temperatures, or in windy weather. Do not add water after setting has begun.
