Acrylic sealant is the most common sealant for indoor applications: it can be painted over, dries quickly, and is easy to apply. At wall and ceiling joints, door frame and wall connections, and interior mixed material joints—where the surface must be uniformly painted after sealing—acrylic sealant is the default solution.
Acrylic sealant is a water-based sealant with an acrylic dispersion binder that can be painted after drying. It is elastic, but its flexibility is limited within its application range—silicone or MS polymer sealants are suitable for joints with greater movement (e.g., facade connections, wet rooms).
Acrylic sealant is not suitable for:
In these cases, silicone or MS polymer sealants should be used.
After applying acrylic sealant, a drying time of 1–2 hours is generally required before painting. Painting before drying can cause wrinkling on the sealant surface. It is compatible with both water-based and solvent-based paints.
Browse our acrylic sealants or request advice to select the appropriate sealant for your application.
