Kerakoll Cementoresina Gel is a transparent, two-component gel for walls and floors. It seals the Cementoresina cement-resin surface, creating an ideal base for the Microresina Xtreme protective layer. Applied with Trowel 3 transparent trowel. This is the sealing layer of the Cementoresina and Cementoresina Wall systems.

Frequently asked questions

What is Cementoresina Gel for?
Sealing-protective layer in Cementoresina microcement systems. It seals the porous cement-resin surface and creates an ideal base for the Microresina Xtreme protective layer. Without it, the protective layer does not adhere properly.

Is the Gel mandatory in the microcement system?
Yes. The 5th and 4th layers of the Cementoresina floor and Cementoresina Wall systems respectively. Without the Gel, the Microresina Xtreme protective layer does not adhere properly to the cement-resin surface.

Is the Gel waterproof?
No. The Gel is a sealing-protective layer but NOT waterproof. Waterproofing is provided by the Microresina Xtreme protective layer. For showers and next to bathtubs, the full system is required for waterproofing.

How many layers are needed in the Cementoresina microcement system?
Floor: 6 layers (primer, leveling, 2× texture, Gel, protective layer). Wall: 5 layers (primer, leveling, texture, Gel, protective layer). Cementoresina Gel is part of every system.

How much Gel is needed per square meter?
About 80 g/m². A 0.6 kg package (0.4 kg A + 0.2 kg B) covers approx. 7 m².

How long does it take to dry?
After 12 hours (+30°C) or 24 hours (+15°C) drying, sanding and applying the Microresina Xtreme protective layer is possible.

Can I apply it myself?
Technically yes, but not recommended. 30 minutes pot life, precise 2:1 mixing ratio, special Trowel 3 transparent spatula required. The texture of the previous layer must be followed. Cementoresina systems require professional application.

Why is the Gel transparent?
So it does not change the texture and color of Cementoresina. The Gel only seals and prepares for the protective layer — it does not cover or color.

What happens if I apply it too thickly?
The material accumulates, whitens, and causes visible defects. It must be applied as a thin film with the Trowel 3 spatula, exactly 80 g/m² thick.

Areas of application

Over Cementoresina 2 texture layer (floor):

After applying Cementoresina 2, wait 10 hours (+30°C) or 24 hours (+10°C). Sand with 120-grit sandpaper using a floor sanding machine. Vacuum thoroughly. Check for plastic or metal tool marks — if present, clean with a cloth dipped in Keragrip Eco Pulep.

Mix Gel parts A and B in a 2:1 ratio with an electric mixer at 300-600 rpm until you get a uniform mixture.

Apply with Trowel 3 transparent putty knife as a thin film (≈80 g/m²), following the Cementoresina texture. Avoid buildup or protrusions. Pay special attention not to exceed the 30-minute pot life. If the mixture starts to warm up, do not continue applying that batch — this is a sign of an exothermic reaction.

Drying time 12–24 hours. After sanding, apply the Microresina Xtreme protective layer.

Over Cementoresina Wall texture layer (wall):

After applying Cementoresina Wall, wait 6 hours (+30°C) or 14 hours (+10°C). The surface will be sticky — this is normal and ensures Gel adhesion. If there are noticeable protrusions or burrs, remove them with the edge of a putty knife or sander, but do not puncture the underlying layer. If there are plastic or metal marks, clean with a cloth dipped in Keragrip Eco Pulep.

Mix Gel parts A and B in a 2:1 ratio with an electric mixer at 300-600 rpm.

Apply with Trowel 3 putty knife as a thin film (≈80 g/m²), following the Cementoresina Wall texture. On vertical surfaces, be especially careful not to leave excess material — it can cause drips. Do not exceed the 30-minute pot life.

Drying time 12–24 hours. After sanding, apply Microresina Xtreme.

Critical points on all surfaces:

30-minute pot life is STRICT — if exceeded, the mixture becomes unusable
If the mixture warms up, STOP — this is an exothermic reaction, dangerous to continue
Always work with small movements, following the pattern of the previous layer
Do not leave excess material buildup — it will whiten
Clean tools immediately with Keragrip Eco Pulep — after hardening, removal is only mechanical
