Is there moisture in the bathroom and the paint starts peeling in the corners? Standard indoor paint seals the wall. Moisture cannot escape — the bond loosens, the layer peels off. You need paint that can handle moisture. For bathroom, kitchen, garage, basement — and any indoor space where white walls are desired. This is Kerakoll Tempera Supertraspirante.

What is it suitable for?

Substrates: Interior plastered surface (cement-lime "bastard" plaster with fine-grain trowel), smooth solid concrete element (prefab panel, masonry elements), stucco-skimmed surface. Gypsum smoothing, drywall, stucco — first Keradecor Prontofix primer. Old limewashed wall or old washable dispersion paint — if fixed, intact, not crumbling.

Spaces: Bathroom, washroom, laundry room, kitchen. Garage, cellar, storage room. Pantry, utility room, restroom. Other indoor walls where a white surface is desired (hallway, corridor) — for high-traffic, frequently cleaned walls, Decor Paint (washable-scrubbable) is the more likely choice.

For moldy surfaces: first treat with Kerakover Activ mold remover, then apply Tempera Supertraspirante.

Not suitable for: rising ground moisture (there a moisture control plaster system is needed — see above), topcoat for lime-based moisture control systems (Biocalce, Geocalce — lime- or silicate-based paint must be applied over), exterior facades, floors, tiles, metal, wood, fresh plaster before curing.

Damp wall, rising moisture? Tempera Supertraspirante is not the solution for this problem. First, a moisture control plaster system is needed — based on diagnostics, Zoccolatura, Benesserebio, or both. This product is also not suitable for topcoating that system: lime- or silicate-based paint is applied over it (Absolute Paint, Silicato Puro Pittura, Tinteggio). Frequently asked questions

Why does paint peel in the bathroom?
Bathroom paint peeling usually happens for two reasons: either water vapor cannot escape through the closed paint layer causing the bond to loosen, or old paint/grease/soap was not properly removed before painting. The first issue is solved with V1 class paint (the layer lets water vapor through); the second with proper substrate preparation.

Which paint is good for bathrooms?
There are several good bathroom paints — the choice depends on the main problem. For water vapor buildup and peeling, a V1 class paint is needed (like Tempera Supertraspirante). For splash zones, frequently cleaned kitchens, or bathroom walls, a washable-scrubbable paint is better — for example, Decor Paint.

What does the V1 class mean?
V1 is the highest water vapor permeability class according to EN 1062-1 — the paint layer does not block water vapor movement. Water vapor freely passes in both directions: bathroom moisture into the wall, wall moisture toward the room. With a closed-layer paint, this film is the bottleneck — with V1, it is not.

How many m² does a 14-liter bucket cover?
One coat covers ≈ 150 m² on a smooth, well-prepared substrate — two coats cover ≈ 75 m². Less on rough or absorbent surfaces; it’s advisable to allow a 10–15% reserve before ordering.

Should the paint be diluted with water?
Yes, add 20–30 volume% water to both layers (about 20% for brush, about 30% for spraying). The 150 m²/layer coverage refers to the diluted paint.

Can it be applied directly on moldy walls?
No. First Kerakover Activ mold removal treatment, then after drying the paint can be applied. The high water vapor permeability helps prevent the paint layer from becoming mold’s breeding ground — but it does not replace mold removal.

Can I apply it myself?
Technically yes, for experienced DIYers — brush or roller, two coats, 6 hours drying time. Diagnostics are critical: is mold removal needed, is there rising moisture, what substrate is underneath.

Is the paint tintable?
White only. For colored, washable paint for kitchen or bathroom, Decor Paint is available in 150 Piero Lissoni shades.

Can it be used on damp walls or against rising moisture?
No. For rising damp, a dehumidifying plaster system is needed first (Zoccolatura, Benesserebio, or both). This product is not suitable as a topcoat for lime-based systems either — contact us for alternatives.

Because you only get what is needed in a humid technical space: white color, V1 water vapor permeability, A+ air quality. No tinting system (white only), no washable-scrubbable certification, no designer palette. The Kerakoll line’s basic white paint — budget-friendly where nothing more is needed.
