A damp wall is not an aesthetic problem — it is a health and structural issue. Mold, moisture, and salt crystallization on the wall surface are symptoms: the real problem occurs inside the wall. It cannot be solved with paint, putty, or regular plaster — because these materials do not allow moisture to escape from the wall, but rather trap it. The moisture-removing plaster works on the opposite principle.
Moisture-removing plaster is a special composition, vapor-permeable (diffusion-open) plaster that allows the gradual drying of moisture inside the wall while preventing visible salt and moisture crystallization on the surface. It does not trap moisture — it releases it in a controlled way. This way, the wall dries out over the long term, does not develop mold, and salt efflorescence disappears from the surface.
The porous structure of moisture-removing plaster performs two functions simultaneously: it stores salts within the internal structure of the plaster before they reach the surface — and moisture can evaporate through vapor release. The resulting microporous system absorbs capillary moisture and salt load without visibly dirtying the surface.
Use of moisture-removing plaster is recommended:
A real example: Our Masterworks showroom in Budapest was originally created in a damp, moldy cellar space. By applying the moisture-removing system — plastering, treatment, finishing layer — the space is now a dry, healthy atmosphere exhibition area. The physical condition of the walls is the best proof that the system works.
Sealing paint, non-breathable plaster, and standard putty are not solutions for damp walls — they worsen the condition. They seal the wall, moisture looks for a way out, and the coating swells and then peels off underneath. Before applying moisture-removing plaster, the source of moisture must also be identified: capillary absorption, rainwater infiltration, and condensation each require different primary treatments.
