What is it suitable for?
Tiles:
porcelain tiles, ceramic tiles, slim tiles, clinker, glass and ceramic mosaics — all types and varieties.
Joint type:
elastic, watertight sealing of movement, fractioning and connecting joints.
Areas:
bathrooms, showers and shower enclosures, balconies, terraces, façades, joints around window and door frames — outdoors and indoors, including areas exposed to frost; can also be applied to damp substrates.
Substrates:
precast and exposed concrete, brick, cement screed, cement and lime plaster; glass and metal/wood window and door frames.
Floors:

Why does the silicone joint shine on the matt porcelain tile?
Because traditional silicone creates a glossy surface. Next to matt porcelain tiles or concrete-effect tiles, it stands out and reflects light. The ultra-matt sealant solves this: it cures with a matt surface that blends into the tile.
Can the Silmat Color joint be painted?
Yes, the cured joint can be painted. Use an elastomeric paint (e.g. Absolute, Decor, Keradecor, Kerakover outdoors), and always carry out a preliminary test. This way, the joint takes on the wall colour and disappears.
Which Color Fill sealant should I choose?
It depends on the surface. For matt tiles and a paintable, invisible joint, Silmat Color is the right choice. For a decorative, glossy joint and 50 colors, choose Silicone Color; for marble and delicate natural stone, choose Neutro Color.
Can it be used in bathrooms and showers?
Yes, it is designed for wet areas. It can be applied to damp substrates and creates a waterproof joint (sanitary EN 15651-3 “S” classification). It is also suitable for bathroom fixtures, shower enclosures, and windows and doors.
Is it suitable for outdoor use, even in freezing conditions?
Yes, it is frost-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. Its temperature resistance ranges from -40 to +80 °C. It can also be used for joints on balconies, terraces, and façades.
When should I NOT use this sealant?
Do not use it for swimming-pool joints or joints exposed to heavy wear. Do not apply it to rubber, plastic, or bituminous materials. For marble and natural stone, check compatibility first.
How many linear metres does one cartridge cover?
One 290 ml cartridge is enough for approximately 2.9 linear metres of joint at a 1 × 1 cm cross-section. For a smaller 5 × 6 mm joint, this is approximately 11.6 linear metres. The exact quantity depends on the joint size.
Which sealant do I need for marble?
For marble, Neutro Color neutral sealant is the reliable choice — it does not stain or yellow. Use Silmat Color on stone only after a preliminary compatibility test.
Can I apply it myself?
The manufacturer designed it for professionals, but Silmat Color is ready to use: you can apply it yourself with a manual or pneumatic gun. Protect the joint edges with masking tape and tool it before it cures. For larger or visible projects, Masterworks can also undertake the grouting.
