Do you have any questions?
Our Kerakoll technical advisor will help you choose the right product.

Does cement grout thicken before you finish? You add water, and the colour becomes patchy. Fugarok remains semi-fluid – workable for longer, without topping up. It completely fills the joint without settling. This is Kerakoll Fugarok.

  • Large area, tight deadline? Fugarok remains semi-fluid under the float – workable for longer, without adding water or remixing.
  • Wide, 2–20 mm joints: complete filling without settling – the calibrated grain distribution prevents recesses from forming in the joint.
  • Structured gres tiles, natural stone: ultra-easy to clean – its high filling capacity makes it easy to remove from the tile surface.
  • Heavy traffic, industrial floors: compressive strength ≥30 N/mm², abrasion ≤500 mm³ – withstands loads without crumbling.
  • Terraces, balconies, façades: moisture-resistant, frost-resistant formula – withstands rain and temperature fluctuations from -40 to +90 °C.
  • Bathrooms, kitchens, wet areas: CG2 WA, reduced water absorption (≤3 g / 240 minutes) – protects the grout from moisture.
  • Floors and walls, indoors and outdoors: suitable for underfloor heating too – one grout for most ceramic and stone applications.
  • Dense, even surface: selected aggregates create a smooth, stain-free joint that stays beautiful over time.

Frequently asked questions

Why does cement grout thicken and become difficult to work with?
Traditional cement grout sets quickly in the bucket. Fugarok maintains a semi-fluid rheology and remains workable for at least 40 minutes. There is no need to add more water—so the color remains uniform.

Which grout is needed for outdoor use and terraces?
For outdoor use, Fugarok mineral grout is a good choice. It is moisture-protected, frost-resistant, and withstands temperature fluctuations from -40 to +90 °C. It can also be used on terraces, balconies, and façades.

What does the CG2 WA classification mean?
CG2 WA identifies an improved (class 2) cement-based grout. The W refers to reduced water absorption, while the A indicates high abrasion resistance (ISO 13007-3). In short: it absorbs less water and withstands abrasion better.

What grout joint widths is the grout suitable for?
Fugarok is suitable for grout joints between 2 and 20 mm wide. It is not suitable for narrower or wider joints. Use silicone in movement and expansion joints.

How much grout is needed per square metre?
Consumption depends on the tile size and grout joint width. Example: 60×60 cm tiles with 3 mm joints ≈ 195 g/m²; 30×30 cm tiles with 5 mm joints ≈ 655 g/m². For exact values, see the material consumption table under Technical data.

When can the tiled surface be used after grouting?
The tiled surface can be put into full use after approximately 3 days. After grouting, protect it from heavy rain and direct sunlight for at least 12 hours. The exact time depends on the temperature and humidity.

Fugarok, Fugabella Color, or Fugalite Color—which one do I need?
Fugarok is a mineral (cement) grout: affordable, easy to work with, and suitable for outdoor use and high-traffic areas. Fugabella Color is a resin-cement hybrid, with 50 colors, more durable color, and water repellency. Fugalite Color is epoxy grout, offering complete water repellency and chemical resistance.

Can it be used for grouting swimming pools?
For swimming pools, suitability must first be checked based on the type of water and the planned treatment. For sustained underwater exposure and chemicals, the epoxy Fugalite Color is the safer choice. Ask for advice: hello@masterworks.hu.

Can I apply it myself?
Yes, on smaller areas the grout is easy to handle: use a rubber float, working diagonally across the tiles. It is important to mix it all at once and not add extra water—otherwise it will become patchy. Leave larger or exterior projects to a professional—we also undertake installation work.

Does the grout need to be flexibilized?
In most cases, no. For timber floors, large-format tiles (≥900 cm²), or highly expansive substrates, the mixing water can be partially or completely replaced with Fugaflex Eco flexible latex additive—improving flexibility, water resistance, and adhesion.

Grouting system – which Kerakoll grout do I need?

Fugarok is the mineral (cement-based) grout in the Kerakoll range: cost-effective, exceptionally easy to work with, and strong. It has its own color range—Cement grey as the base color, plus the KK 2, KK 6, KK 8, KK 66, KK 69, KK 71, KK 86, and KK 109 shades. This is not the Piero Lissoni 50-color Color Fill palette; Fugarok has its own mineral color range. All shades have excellent colorfastness, rated 4.5 GSc (EN ISO 105-A05), for both interior and exterior use.

Which Kerakoll grout do I need?

  • Mineral, cost-effective, exterior and high-traffic areas: Fugarok – this product
  • Colorfast, water-repellent, 50 colors, swimming pools, underfloor heating: Fugabella Color resin-cement hybrid
  • Complete water repellency, chemical resistance, industrial kitchens/laboratories: Fugalite Color epoxy
  • Movement / expansion joint in the same color: Silicone Color

The displayed colors are for guidance only. Before starting a larger project, always request a physical color sample, as the grout shade may vary depending on the lighting and application.

User guide

Substrate preparation: The covering must be firmly fixed, and the substrate must be completely dry. For adhesive installation, observe the waiting time specified in the adhesive’s technical data sheet; for mortar-bed installation, wait at least 7–14 days. Clean the joints of adhesive residue to a depth of approximately 2/3 of the tile thickness, then vacuum up dust and debris.

Mixing: Pour approximately ¾ of the water into a clean bucket (approximately 4 l per 20 kg bag), gradually add the powder, and mix at low speed (approximately 400 rpm) until you obtain a smooth, lump-free, uniform paste. Do not add extra water—it reduces strength and cleanability and causes colour mottling. Mix only as much as you can use at one time, always with the same amount of water.

Application: Apply with a rubber float, moving diagonally across the tiles and filling the joints completely. Remove most of the excess immediately, leaving only a thin film on the tiles.

Cleaning: As soon as the grout begins to set, clean with a large sponge soaked in clean water, using diagonal movements. Keep the water clean; on large surfaces, use a sponge cleaning machine. Do not sprinkle the floor with dry Fugarok powder—the grout will become mottled.

Conditions and times: Application temperature: between +5 and +35 °C. Pot life: at least 40 minutes. Ready for use after approximately 3 days. After grouting, protect from heavy rain and direct sunlight for 12 hours.
