Kerakoll Rekord Pronto ultra-fast ready-mixed screed (CT-C40-F7)

The tiler is coming tomorrow, but the screed is not ready yet? You cannot install floor coverings while the substrate is damp. Rekord Pronto is walkable after 3 hours. What is it suitable for?

Screed: Bonded screed (bonded directly to concrete) 20–80 mm; floating screed (laid on film or insulation) 40–80 mm; underfloor heating.

Floor coverings (with adhesive): Porcelain tiles and ceramic tiles in all sizes, clinker, terracotta, glass and ceramic mosaics; natural stone, engineered stone, marble; parquet; rubber, PVC, linoleum, carpet.

Substrates: Precast or cast-in-place concrete slab; cement screed; lightweight screed; thermal and acoustic insulation panel.

Areas: Indoors — homes, shops, offices and industrial buildings; building interiors exposed to temperature fluctuations and frost as well.

Not suitable:

• For outdoor use
• On damp, continuously waterlogged substrates
• In permanently wet rooms
• On deformable substrates without flexural design calculations or expansion joints
• On incompletely cured concrete, as a bonded screed

The Kerakoll screed range

The screeds belong to the floor levelling compounds and screeds category. All five are mineral, fast-drying screeds for bonded coverings. The difference lies in strength, time to covering and application location.

*Keracem: 28-day compressive strength at dosages of 200 and 250 kg/m³, respectively. All times at +20 °C and 65% relative humidity.

Common to all: mineral, fast-drying screed for bonded coverings; also suitable for underfloor heating; EC 1 plus and A+ indoor emissions; moisture measurement only using the CM method.

Which screed can be covered fastest?
Within the range, Rekord Pronto: ceramic tiles can be laid after ≈ 6 hours and parquet after ≈ 24 hours on a 5 cm layer. Walkable after ≈ 3 hours. Times apply at +20 °C and 65% humidity.

Is it also suitable for outdoor use or terraces?
No, only for indoor use. It is also not suitable for damp, continuously wet substrates or permanently wet rooms. For outdoor use, Keracem Pronto or Prontoplus is recommended.

How long can the mix be worked?
For at least 1 hour. In warm weather, the working time is significantly shorter - mixing with cold water and keeping the bags in the shade is recommended.

How much screed is needed per 1 m²?
≈ 16–18 kg per centimetre. For a 5 cm thick screed, ≈ 80–90 kg/m², i.e. 3.2–3.6 bags.

When can the underfloor heating be switched on for the first time?
At least 1 day after laying. First, a flow temperature of +20–25 °C is required for 3 days, followed by the planned maximum temperature for at least 4 days. Then return to room temperature, and the floor covering can be laid (EN 1264-4).

What does CT-C40-F7 mean?
CT means cement screed according to EN 13813. C40 means a compressive strength of at least 40 N/mm², and F7 means a flexural strength of at least 7 N/mm².

What is the difference between Rekord Pronto and Keracem Pronto?
Rekord is much faster: ceramic tiles after 6 hours, parquet after 24 hours. However, it is only suitable for indoor use. Keracem Pronto is slower, but is also suitable for outdoor use and has a longer working time.

How should I measure the screed's moisture before laying parquet?
Only with a calcium carbide (CM) meter. An electronic moisture meter does not show the actual value for this screed.

When should I not use it?
Outdoors, in damp or permanently wet areas, or on deformable substrates without calculating the bending resistance. It must not be used without expansion joints either. Do not add any other binder, filler, colouring agent, additive, or water afterwards.

Can I apply it myself?
Product intended for professionals. Due to the short working time, fast, coordinated work is required - this is best left to a professional. We also undertake the installation.
