What is it suitable for?

Substrates (walls only): New, cured cement-, gypsum- or lime-based plaster and skim coat; well-bonded, sound old plaster and skim coat; plasterboard.

Areas: Exterior and interior — facades, living spaces, offices, shops.

Frequently asked questions

What should be done if the wall is chalky or dusty before painting?
Chalky plaster or filler must be consolidated with a deep-penetrating primer after removing loose parts. Peeling, powdery old paint and whitewash are also considered loose parts. After treatment with Universal Wall Primer, the wall can be painted after at least 4 hours.

What primer is needed before painting a wall?
Use a deep consolidating primer on crumbling, deteriorating, smooth, or freshly repaired walls. This is the recommended primer under Absolute Paint and Decor Paint. On sound, well-adhering surfaces, follow the paint manufacturer's instructions.

How long before it can be painted?
After at least 4 hours (+20 °C, 65% humidity). A drying time of 6 hours is recommended before Absolute Paint and Decor Paint. This may be significantly longer in cold or humid conditions.

Does the primer need to be diluted?
Generally not; it is ready to use. On particularly smooth, dense surfaces, it can be diluted with water at most 1:1 to improve absorption. On very porous walls, multiple coats can be applied wet-on-wet, before the previous coat has dried.

Is it also suitable for breathable lime plaster?
Yes, if the lime plaster is cured and dry. It is also suitable for breathable and moisture-control systems. On a damp wall, it may only be applied as part of a moisture-control system, after the wall has dried.

Universal Wall Primer or Rasobuild Eco Consolidante?
Universal Wall Primer prepares surfaces for paint and decorative coatings. Rasobuild Eco Consolidante is for use under skim coats and smoothing compounds. Use this before painting and the other before skim coating.

How much primer is needed per m²?
For fixing chalking, dusty surfaces: ≈ 0.08–0.12 l/m²; for consolidating old, crumbling surfaces: ≈ 0.15–0.2 l/m². A 10 l container covers approximately 83–125 m² when used as a fixative, and 50–66 m² when used as a consolidating primer.

When should I not use it?
On contaminated or loose surfaces, and on walls affected by rising damp without first eliminating the moisture. Not suitable for floors. It is not a finished surface on its own - paint or a coating must be applied over it.

Can it be purchased separately?
Yes. Even if you already have the paint, if you are repairing just one wall, or if you have found that you do not have enough. It is also available in 1-liter packaging.

Can I apply it myself?
The product is designed for professionals, but application is simple: use a paintbrush with crisscrossing strokes. The tool can be washed with water before the product dries. We also carry out painting and decorative wall finishing.
