Kerakoll Rasobuild Eco Extrafino extra-fine white skim coat

Does the filled wall remain bubbly and porous? Dense filler is difficult to spread, leaving air in the pores. This filler is particularly fluid. It can be applied quickly without bubbles. It provides a white, perfectly smooth surface beneath paint. Its grain size is no more than 0.25 mm. This is Kerakoll Rasobuild Eco Extrafino.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the skimmed wall covered in bubbles?
Because thick skim coat traps air in the pores. Use a more fluid skim coat and apply strong pressure with the trowel for the first layer. Extrafino is particularly fluid, so it can be applied without bubbles.

How many layers of skim coat are needed?
The manufacturer specifies application in two layers; the maximum layer thickness is 2 mm. The first layer must be worked in with firm pressure. Additional layers can be applied until the desired thickness is reached.

How much skim coat is needed per m²?
Approximately 1.1 kg/m² per millimetre. One 20 kg bag covers approximately 18 m² at a 1 mm thickness.

How long before the skimmed wall can be painted?
At +20 °C and 65% humidity, after approximately 3–7 days. Wallpaper can also be applied at this point. It takes longer in cold or humid weather.

Can the skim coat also be used outdoors?
Yes, for both interior and exterior use. On façades, it can be applied over sound, solid, absorbent plaster. Do not apply it to sun-exposed surfaces or in windy weather.

Rasobuild Eco Extrafino or Fino?
For a final, extra-smooth skim coat, use Extrafino (maximum 2 mm layer). For levelling more uneven plaster, use Fino (maximum 5 mm). On mixed substrates, first apply Fino with mesh, then Extrafino.

Is it also suitable for plasterboard?
Not directly: the manufacturer does not recommend it for moving walls or plasterboard. For filling plasterboard joints, use Rasobuild Eco Stucco RP or Biogesso Stucco mangiaVOC.

When should I not use it?
On floors, wood, moving walls, treated or non-absorbent surfaces. First consolidate crumbling plaster with Rasobuild Eco Consolidante.

Can I apply it myself?
Product intended for professionals. Its liquid consistency makes application easier, but achieving a flawless, flat wall requires plastering-skill practice. We also carry out the plastering and painting.
