Can façade smoothing compound be applied over old paint without replastering?
Yes, if the paint is well bonded, sound, and not re-emulsifiable. Loose areas must be removed and the surface cleaned with a high-pressure washer. Rasobuild Eco Top Fino can then be applied directly.
What does EN 1504-3 R1 mean?
European standard for concrete repair mortars; R1 is the class for non-structural repairs. This means the smoothing compound is also certified for repairing concrete surfaces.
How much smoothing compound is needed per m²?
≈ 1.3 kg/m² per millimetre. One 25 kg bag covers ≈ 19 m² at 1 mm thickness. It must be applied in two or more layers.
How long before it can be painted?
At +20 °C and 65% humidity, after ≈ 7 days. Wallpaper can also be applied at this point. It takes longer in cold or humid weather.
Rasobuild Eco Top Fino or Fino?
For painted, coated, non-absorbent, or mosaic surfaces, use Top Fino. On sound, absorbent render, Rasobuild Eco Fino is sufficient. Top Fino is water-repellent and stronger (≥ 10 N/mm²).
Top Fino or Top Granello?
For a fine-grained finish, in white or grey, use Top Fino. For a medium-grained finish, use Top Granello. Neither is intended for levelling major unevenness.
Is a primer required underneath?
Not on sound, compact surfaces. Moisten absorbent substrates; leave non-absorbent ones dry. Apply Rasobuild Eco Consolidante first to crumbling areas and plasterboard.
Can it also be smoothed over glass mosaic or plastic coverings?
Yes, on a perfectly dry surface, in two or more layers. The surface must be sound, clean, and free of grease and water-repellent treatments.
When should I not use it?
On floors, crumbling substrates, and gypsum-based surfaces without priming. It must not be applied over water-repellent-treated surfaces or flaking paint.
Can I apply it myself?
A product intended for professionals. Scaffold work, high-pressure washing, and trowel practice are required on façades. We also carry out façade renovations.

Substrate preparation: The non-absorbent surface must be dry and the absorbent surface damp. Both must be sound, clean, dust-free, and free from grease and water-repellent substances. Clean with a high-pressure washer and remove any insufficiently bonded areas. On new concrete, remove the form-release agent with a high-pressure washer. The substrate must be dimensionally stable and past the shrinkage stage caused by curing; allow repairs to cure fully. Do not apply to friable areas or gypsum-based substrates Rasobuild Eco Consolidante.
Mixing: Pour approximately ¾ of the mixing water into a clean container (total amount: white ≈ 6.8 l, grey ≈ 7 l / 25 kg), then gradually add the powder while mixing at low speed (≈ 400 rpm). Then add the remaining water until obtaining a lump-free, uniform consistency.
Application: Apply in two or more coats using a steel trowel. On absorbent substrates, apply the first coat with firm pressure. For paint, plastic coverings or glass mosaic, apply to a perfectly dry surface. If necessary, embed Rinforzo V 50 mesh, then apply the subsequent coats; maximum layer thickness 10 mm. The surface can be finished with a steel trowel, smoothing trowel or sponge.
Waiting time: Before painting and wallpapering: ≈ 7 days (+20 °C, 65% humidity; longer in cold or humid weather).
Conditions: Between +5 °C and +35 °C. Do not apply to surfaces exposed to sunlight or high temperatures, or in windy weather. Do not add water after setting has begun.
