Kerakoll Rasobuild Eco Top Granello water-repellent finishing plaster (0–1.4 mm)

Is the painted façade worn, but replastering too expensive? Skim coat applied over loose paint will peel off with it. This medium-grain skim coat can also be applied to well-bonded, compact old paint. Also suitable for concrete and well-fixed mosaic. Water-repellent, EN 1504-3 R1 classification. This is Kerakoll Rasobuild Eco Top Granello.

• For levelling irregularities requiring a high build
• For peeling paint, paint treated with a water repellent, or poorly adhering paint

Top Fino or Top Granello?

Common to both: water-repellent · EN 1504-3 R1 · compressive strength ≥ 10 N/mm² · also suitable for painted, coated, and non-absorbent surfaces · can be smoothed by hand or machine · paintable after approximately 7 days (+20 °C, 65% humidity).

Frequently asked questions

Can a granular smoothing compound be applied to old façade paint without replastering?
Yes, if the paint is well bonded, solid, and not re-emulsifiable. Loose areas must be removed and the surface cleaned with a pressure washer. Rasobuild Eco Top Granello can then be applied directly.

How much smoothing compound is needed per m²?
Approximately 1.3 kg/m² per millimetre. One 25 kg bag covers approximately 19 m² at 1 mm and approximately 3.8 m² at 5 mm. It must be applied in two or more layers.

How long before it can be painted?
At +20 °C and 65% humidity, after approximately 7 days. Wallpaper can also be applied at this point. It takes longer in cold or humid weather.

What does EN 1504-3 R1 mean?
European standard for concrete repair mortars; R1 is the class for non-structural repairs. This means it is also certified for smoothing and repairing concrete surfaces.

Top Granello or Top Fino?
For a medium-grain surface, use Top Granello. For a fine grain, including in grey, use Top Fino. Neither is suitable for leveling major unevenness.

Rasobuild Eco Top Granello or Granello?
For painted, coated, or non-absorbent surfaces, use Top Granello. For sound, absorbent plaster, Rasobuild Eco Granello is sufficient. Top is more water-repellent and stronger.

Is primer required underneath?
Not on sound, solid surfaces. Absorbent substrates must be dampened; non-absorbent ones must be left dry. For crumbling areas and plasterboard, first apply Rasobuild Eco Consolidante.

When should I not use it?
Not without primer on gypsum-based surfaces, on inconsistent, crumbling substrates, or to level major unevenness. Not on water-repellent-treated surfaces or flaking paint either.

Can I apply it myself?
Product intended for professionals. Scaffolding work, pressure washing, and trowel application experience are required for façades. We also carry out façade renovations.
