Geolite Magma Xenon with Steel Fiber provides pourable, fiber-reinforced concrete — without rebar, from just 15 mm. Flexible, CVT certified, with C80/95 strength. This is Kerakoll Geolite Magma Xenon.

Geolite is the first geo-mortar for repairing damaged reinforced concrete: Kerakoll geo-binder, with near-zero shrinkage and high chemical resistance.

What is it suitable for?

Substrates: Healthy, load-bearing reinforced concrete and concrete — both outdoors and indoors. On horizontal concrete after Primer Uni substrate preparation.

Usage: Fiber-reinforced (FRC) strengthening, passivation, restoration, and monolithic consolidation of reinforced concrete structures and infrastructures — without embedded rebar, in thin layers: poured into formwork for vertical elements and inside arches; poured on arch crowns and mandatory cross-section underpinning. Also for precision anchoring of base plates, rods, and machinery.

Not suitable: without Steel Fiber (the system is certified and complete only with the fiber); in layers thinner than 15 mm; on contaminated, loose, crumbling, or dusty substrates; on gypsum, metal, wood; on surfaces below +5 °C, above +40 °C, or frozen.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can a reinforced concrete element be strengthened without new steel reinforcement?
Fiber-reinforced (FRC) concrete, where steel fibers carry the tensile load instead of steel reinforcement. Geolite Magma Xenon mixed with Steel Fiber provides a pourable, fiber-reinforced reinforcement from just 15 mm layers, with CVT certification. No steel reinforcement or thick cover is needed.

What is FRC fiber-reinforced concrete?
FRC (Fiber Reinforced Concrete) is concrete reinforced with steel fibers, where the fibers take over the role of steel reinforcement. Geolite FRC is a blend of Magma Xenon and Steel Fiber: a flexible, crack-resistant reinforcement with C80/95 strength. The system is certified by the Italian CVT (434/2020).

Is Steel Fiber required, or is it sold separately?
Geolite Magma Xenon together with Steel Fiber forms a certified FRC system — the fiber must be added to the mix. The reinforcement’s load capacity depends on the fiber, so they must be used together. Steel Fiber is supplied separately.

Why is it good that it works from 15 mm thickness?
Because many elements don’t have space for thick reinforcement and new rebar installation. Geolite Magma Xenon provides structural load-bearing capacity from just 15 mm thickness, without steel reinforcement. This keeps the structure slim and avoids increasing the cross-section.

Geolite Magma, Magma 20, or Magma Xenon — which one do I need?
All three pourable geo-mortars serve different purposes. Magma Xenon is a ready fiber-reinforced FRC mix — for reinforcement without rebar. Magma is a multi-purpose repair/consolidation mortar (also FRC with Steel Fiber). Magma 20 is fast and volume-expanding — for precision anchoring.

Can it be used outdoors, in aggressive environments?
Yes, Geolite Magma Xenon is waterproof (0 mm water penetration), frost-resistant, and meets a wide range of exposure classes (from X0 to XA1). It is suitable for outdoor reinforced concrete structures exposed to precipitation and freeze-thaw cycles. It passivates existing rebar.

Is a primer needed under Geolite Magma Xenon?
For horizontal concrete surfaces, Primer Uni substrate preparation is recommended. The substrate must be clean, solid, and ≥ 5 mm rough; rust must be removed from the rebar. Before casting, wet the surface thoroughly.

When should I NOT use this mortar?
Do not use without Steel Fiber, in layers thinner than 15 mm, on dirty or loose substrates, gypsum, metal, or wood. Do not work with it below +5 °C, above +40 °C, on frozen surfaces, or in rain. For simple, non-structural repairs, Geolite or Geolite Silt is sufficient.

Can I apply it myself?
No — fiber-reinforced FRC reinforcement requires structural design and expertise: precise sizing, exact fiber ratio adherence, and professional casting. This is a certified structural intervention. We undertake the complete execution.

User guide

Substrate preparation: Remove damaged concrete mechanically or with water demolition down to healthy material, with a rough surface of ≥ 5 mm. Clean rust off the reinforcing steel, then remove dust. Moisten until saturated but free of surface water; apply Primer Uni on dry horizontal concrete.

Mixing (Geolite FRC system): For a 25 kg bag, use ≈ 3.3 l water (concrete mixer) or ≈ 3.1 l (manual/machine). Mix until homogeneous, then add Steel Fiber at 6.5% of the powder weight (1 pack of Steel Fiber per 4 bags of Xenon), and mix for ≈ 2 minutes until fibers are evenly distributed. Do not deviate from the fiber ratio.

Application: Pour into formwork, arch back, or repair area, facilitating air escape. Layer thickness min. 15 mm, max. 40 mm. Pot life ≥ 60 minutes, long setting time (> 360 minutes) — comfortable workability.

Curing: Keep moist for the first 24 hours, protect from strong sun and wind.

Temperature: +5 °C – +40 °C. Do not apply on frozen surfaces, in rain, or in strong sunlight.

All other products must be shipped from the supplier's warehouses. This can take 1-4 weeks (it depends on the manufacturer; please confirm the delivery time with our customer service before ordering). Such products are either marked "In Stock" or require a pre-order together with a request for a quote.

The costs are determined based on the weight of the ordered products and are automatically added to your cart at checkout. Carbonation is one of the main causes of reinforced concrete deterioration: the concrete loses its alkalinity, the steel reinforcement rusts, and the surface spalls. Geolite’s alkaline mineral chemistry re-passivates the reinforcing steel (EN 1504-7), while the structural repair mortars provide R4-class load-bearing performance (EN 1504-3).
