Carbonation is one of the main causes of reinforced concrete deterioration: the concrete loses its alkalinity, the steel reinforcement rusts, and the surface spalls. Geolite’s alkaline mineral chemistry re-passivates the reinforcing steel (EN 1504-7), while the structural repair mortars provide R4-class load-bearing performance (EN 1504-3).
